In 2007 I was bored at work and looking through the "Animals" section on craigslist. I lived in a very small apartment and already had two cats (Nacho and Mark Jr) so had no intention of adopting another. I came across this heartbreaking story of a cat named Grover. He had been found frozen to the ground on the south side of Chicago after being attacked by a dog. He had been out there so long the rescue group had to pour warm water on him to peel him off the ground. They got him patched up and he was looking for a home. Needless to say I fell in love and contacted them immediately.

When they brought him over he was timid for about 30 seconds then started scratching up my couch and made himself at home. He was SOOO wonky looking! He was missing teeth so his tongue would hang out, he had a snaggle tooth that would stick out. He was still healing from his bite wounds and was beat up but it never dampened his spirit. Grover was always happy, always got along with my other cats, was the first to welcome the future rescues, seemed to always know when i was down. He was a special guy and I was lucky to have him for 11 years.

I want this organization to be able to help all the other Grovers out there.
